The support provided offers young people the opportunity to receive individual support when setting up home for the first time. Each young person has their own support worker who will make regular weekly visits to help them with the emotional demands of living independently such as coping with isolation, relationships with other people including neighbours and to provide:
- help to engage in and maintain education, training or employment
- help in managing money and budgeting
- help with benefit claims
- help in developing domestic and social skills
- advice on home safety and security
- advice on citizenship
- advocacy and sign-posting to other services
Support workers will engage with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure consistency and continuity of the services provided in line with the requirements of Every Child Matters.
