Future Horizons, supported accommodation in Staffordshire
Future Horizons supported accommodation in Staffordshire, assists young people leaving care to prepare experientially for adult life in a psychologically informed therapeutic environment, as well as access to psychological support. We are also members of The Consortium for Therapeutic Communities.
The service promotes safety, emotional well-being and self-regulation, in addition to this Future Horizons offers medium to high level support to young people who may need additional help in relation to:
Self-care and life skills
Emotional well-being and mental health
Education, employment and training
Independence and citizenship
Located in a small community setting we provide self-contained accommodation with call assist and access to communal facilities where young people can participate in shared activities, attend meetings and practice life skills with support from on-site staff.
We also offer transitional and outreach support in the community.
I would like to share my experiences of working in the last six months with Future Horizons in Tamworth. I have been extremely impressed by the whole service and the levels of support and opportunities it offers its young residents. It offers the perfect balance between enabling the young residents to live independently in an environment that offers safety and security. The level of support is exactly what young people require to enable them to develop the social-emotional skills that are vital to successful independent living in the community.
